IDEOGRAMS ON A WASHI PAPER DRESS

Lineapiù Italia's tribute to Japanese culture

Lineapiù Italia constantly explores the borderline between technological and manufacturing innovation, artistic suggestion, and the aesthetic dimension of the yarns. Up to working with a fascinating material such as paper, as if to test the limits in the creation of yarns, which evolve in their structure while maintaining an artisanal aspect and spirit.

This is the case of two yarns that mix the most noble Japanese paper by combining it with viscose to make a thin raffia with a natural look, yarns that look like stripes on which to write new pages of knitwear fashion.
Indeed, the existence of a thread of paper generates the suggestion of being able to wear a paper dress, which is a bit like being able to inhabit a book, dressing its pages.

A dress to write, a dress to read, a dress on which to illustrate a story. A dress able to tell with its aesthetics, to excite with the versatility of its material.
Using these woven paper yarns, designer Naira Khachatryan has created two dresses to give shape and structure to the desire for femininity. In a path of re-signification of the dress, the artist Federico Paris intervenes using the art of Japanese shodō calligraphy to enrich the knit weave with graphic signs and messages, feeding new levels of storytelling in the relationship between matter, decoration, and message.
Imprinted on the garment are a series of words that preserve Lineapiù's DNA, an invitation to reflect on the values that inspire everyday work: listening - respect - innovation - culture - quality - creativity - courage - determination - sustainability - solidarity.
